Busworld India 2018, Interads Exhibition’s International B2B exhibition for the Bus & Coach Industry, witnessed record breaking visitors as well as exhibitors.
The three-day trade fair that was held between August 29-31 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) has more than doubled its visitors count as compared its previous edition held in 2016.
The show was estimated to have witnessed a footfall of roughly 10,000 business visitors. The exact number of visitors will be known once the post-event assessment was over.
The expo registered a participation by over 115 Exhibitors including Tata Motors, Force Motors, MG Automotive, Olectra Greentech, JTAC, Valeo Motherson, MRF, Bridgestone, Subros Ltd and many others.

In addition, international exhibitors from Germany, Belgium, Spain, USA, Turkey, China, Korea, Austria, Belarus and many other countries also showcased their latest products and services.

MG Automotives
MG Automotives unveiled and launched three luxury coaches such as ‘Glider Seater’ with 43 seats & ‘Glider Z’ sleeper with 30 berths based on Bharat Benz chassis. The luxury sleeper ‘DreamZ’ based on Mercedes multi axle chassis was also launched.

Force Motors
One of the India’s leading commercial vehicle maker Force Motors has unveiled the country’s 1st 33/41 seater Monocoque Bus at the trade fair, marking its foray into ‘Midibus’ category. Other new vehicles that were showcased were Traveller Rural Bus, Traveller T23350 & Traveller 26AC CNG.

Tata Motors
Indian commercial vehicle giant Tata Motors has showcased five new public transport vehicles at the exhibition. The new range of transport solutions on display and pulled huge number of visitors were- Starbus Ultra AC 22-Seater Push back, Starbus 12-Seater AC Maxi cab, WINGER 12-Seater, Tata 1515 MCV Staff Bus and MAGNA intercity coach.
Prakash Automobiles
Bangalore-based Prakash Automobiles launched a 45+1 seater Bus called ‘Prakash vega’ based on Ashok Leyland Chassis & a 30 berth Sleeper Coach ‘Prakash Capella’ based on Bharat Benz Chassis.
Prakash’ group company has also showcased its seating solutions for the commercial vehicle industry in the expo.
Olectra Greentech
Hyderabad-based Olectra Greentech, which has a technology tie-up with Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD, has launched Fully electric 11 seater Maxi Cab along with a 39 seater Electric Bus.

The US-headquartered Agility Fuel Solutions exhibited its high capacity, light weight, carbon fibre composite material made CNG storage systems which allow a better range of up to 800Kms to Buses and CVs.
Spain’s Hidral Global displayed its electrohydraulic system based automated wheelchair ramps to make public transport more accessible for the elderly & differently -abled. These can be retrofitted in existing vehicles.
Austri’s FASCHING Safety Belts showcased its safety belts for passenger and commercial vehicles.
BELKOMMUNMASH from Belarus has displayed its Electric trolleybuses Buses.
Germany-based Hübner showcased ‘Interface systems’ that connect coaches of trolleybuses and help in manoeuvrability and another company from the same country, Eberspächer and Valeo Motherson launched latest HVAC system for Buses & Coaches.
The Exhibition was powered by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU) and Bus Operators Confederation of India (BOCI), which has also conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the Day 1.
ASRTU Conference was organized on the second day with topics like – ‘Electrification of Public Transport’, ‘Digital Transaction towards efficient Public Transport System’ & ‘Accessible Public Transport for People With Disabilities (PWD)’
The Exhibition was also supported by Industry bodies like International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) and Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). The next edition of Busworld India would take place in August 2020 at Bengaluru.
