Tata Motors has achieved a milestone in the electric vehicle (EV) segment by rolling out the 1000th Tata Nexon EV from its Pune plant.
The commercial vehicle leader achieved this landmark in just over 6-months after the launch of the vehicle. It portrays the rapid growth in both interest and demand for EVs.
The company claimed that Tata Nexon EV has been acknowledged as the most preferred electric car in India. It said the Tata Nexon EV is the best seller in its category. This sales boom has helped Tata Motors post a market share of 62 percent in EV segment in Q1FY21.
Speaking on this occasion, Shailesh Chandra, President – Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors Ltd. said, “The rollout of the 1000th Nexon EV in a quick span, despite the current challenges reflects the rising interest of personal segment buyers in EVs.”
Consistently, Tata Motors has catered to the evolving requirements of customers for electric cars with the introduction Tigor Electric Sedan and Nexon Electric SUV.

To popularise the access and use of Nexon electric SUV in India, recently Tata Motors has launched a novel EV Subscription model. This is deal for customers preferring ‘usership’ over ownership in the growing era of shared economy.
Further, to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the country, the company has also launched a holistic e-mobility ecosystem “Tata uniEVerse”. This is to leverage the strengths and experience of other Tata Group companies to create a viable EV environment.
Backed by Tata uniEVerse, prospective customers will have access to a suite of e-mobility offerings including charging solutions and retail experiences in addition to easy financing options.
