Jeep India has announced that production for the locally-assembled 2021 Wrangler has commenced in its Ranjangaon joint venture manufacturing facility.
This announcement has been made just one month after the comprehensive go-local strategy was announced by the company.
Wrangler, according to the automaker, is the most capable and recognised vehicle in the world and is built on its legendary history with an combination of off-road capability, open-air freedom, authentic Jeep design, advanced fuel-efficient powertrains, superior on- and off-road dynamics, and a string of innovative safety and advanced technology features.
Partha Datta, Managing Director – Jeep India, said, “Jeep has always represented the ultimate in capability and open-air freedom, and we are incredibly proud that our Made-in-India Wrangler protects that important legacy in the market.”
He added: “The Jeep Wrangler is the second out of the four localised products we committed to launch in India. We wanted to make the world’s most recognised SUV even more accessible to our Indian customers and we are pleased to be able to meet their aspirations.”
Pre-booking
The 2021 edition of Wrangler is now available for pre-booking before going on sale exclusively in India on 15 March, in 26 dealerships across India.
Pricing and specifications will be announced at market launch. The Jeep vehicle lineup consists of the Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Renegade and Wrangler.
