United States, October 2020 – Wireless sensing technology major Origin Wireless has joined hands with Japanese electronics giant Murata Manufacturing Company to promote its WiFi sensing technology to automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to enable rapid adoption into vehicles by 2023.
This will help to meet the Child Presence Detection mandate of European New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) to achieve the highest vehicle safety rating.
Origin’s wirelessAI software has transformed thousands of standard WiFi devices into sensitive virtual motion sensors in more than 150 countries. Particularly, the company’s wirelessAI algorithms leverage common WiFi signals to detect motion triggered by anyone inside the car.
The wireless technology major’s solution can accurately detect breathing anywhere inside the car without blind spots. It will also eliminate cameras or wearables, preserving privacy for the passengers.
Murata is a leading Japan-headquartered supplier of automobile grade connectivity modules. The partnership combines Origin’s wirelessAI WiFi sensing software platform with Murata’s proven WiFi connectivity modules, streamlining development and deployment into production vehicles with cost competitiveness, seamless support and supply continuity.
