ATLIS Motor Vehicles files multiple patents for 500 Mile Range Electric Work Truck

To bring 500 mile range electric work truck to market

AtlisATLIS Motor Vehicles (AMV) has filed six new provisional patents for protection of key technology related to its 100 per cent electric XP vehicle platform and XT pickup truck.

AMV is a start-up mobility technology company developing an electric work truck, and the batteries and motors to drive it.

Its latest applications for patent cover distributed control of vehicle systems and battery tab design, and use cases involving route planning, digital mirrors, configuration of the XP Platform, and towing intelligence.

Earlier, the company filed for patent protection across its battery thermal management technology, proprietary battery cell, charging technology, modular platform, and various vehicle systems. The latest six new patent applications take the total to 16.

Mark Hanchett, Chief Executive officer of ATLIS Motor Vehicles. said, “Traditional automakers are dependent on their suppliers, sourcing much of the same off-the-shelf-technology as their competitors.”

Vertically integrated approach

He said the company is taking a vertically integrated approach, developing all technology in-house to make a vehicle that meets specific customer needs. Hanchett added: “We innovate with purpose and our strong IP portfolio is a huge differentiator.”

XT pickup is being developed by AMV to meet the refueling, size, towing and payload capabilities of legacy diesel-powered vehicles and the XP platform.

Also called as “skateboard”, it is the base for the pickup and a stand-alone medium to heavy-duty electric platform. AMV’s proprietary battery technology, electric motors, and a modular system architecture will make a high output, high capacity, fast-charging work truck.
